Tora Coastal Walk

COVID-19

Following the announcements that all of New Zealand has moved to Red under the Covid-19 Protection Framework we have revised our procedures accordingly.   We are satisfied that due to the operating practices we already have in place, we are well positioned to continue welcoming you to Tora.

You will be asked for your Vaccination Passport soon after arriving at Whakapata Cottage until April 5, 2022.  From this date we will not require walkers to show us their Vaccination Passports and you will not be required to scan in using the Covid Tracer App. We will continue to capture each person’s contact details under our usual health and safety procedures.

All of our staff are fully vaccinated and will be wearing masks while interacting with guests, however we will continue to limit staff contact as much as possible.  We apologise that we are unable to deliver the usual amount of warm and personalised Tora hospitality at this time, however keeping both yourselves and our staff safe is our priority.

Our maximum number of guests each evening is 14.  We guarantee each individual group (or booking) will have their own bedroom(s) and this means there are very frequently less than 14 people in the accommodation.  Your accommodation “bubble” will remain unchanged throughout your three days with us.

Each building will continue to be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised before your arrival.  This means we have strict check in times at each accommodation location over your three day walk, and you may not enter before the cleaners have finished.  We will advise you of these timeframes when you arrive at Whakapata Cottage, where you will start your Tora Coastal Walk adventure (any time after 4pm on the date of your booking).

You are welcome to wear a mask and practise physical distancing while in the accommodation and on the track.  Please respect the choice of others and do what you can to help them maintain these practises. Hand sanitiser will be available at all accommodation venues.

Cancellations and postponements are easy for those who are unwell or subject to isolation restrictions just prior to their trip. In the first instance TCW will endeavour to reschedule your booking. If this proves too difficult a full refund will be offered. Refunds will only apply to group members effected in this way and we regret we are unable to refund or reschedule entire groups.

In the case of a booking being rescheduled to a future walking season, the updated price for that particular season will apply.

Thank you for your understanding.  It’s a strange world we find ourselves in – what better place to be then walking in the hills with good friends, a few sheep and Mother Nature!

Cancellation and Postponement Policy:
Our usual policy (for things that aren’t Covid related) is you need to cancel 60 days or more prior to your arrival. A $50 administration fee will be charged per person, or per group if only one refund transaction is required.

If your cancellation is less than 60 prior to your arrival, we are unable to provide a refund of your deposit. If you need to cancel your booking within 30 days of your intended arrival, we are unable to provide a refund of either your deposit or your balance payment.

We ask that if you are feeling unwell when you are due to come on the walk, please do not come. Your safety and the safety of our walkers is paramount.

Thank you for your understanding as we navigate our way through this challenging time.
