There is no public transport system to Tora. Here are your travel options:
Travelling from North:
Make your way down to Palmerston North. On the outskirts of Palmerston North take Highway 3 to Woodville. From Woodville take Highway 2 to Greytown. At the southern end of Greytown, (just on the outskirts) there is a sign to the left-hand side of the road directing you to Martinborough. From Martinborough use the directions provided below.
Wellington to the Tora Coastal Walk
You can drive to the walk by following the directions on the Google map. It is approximately 35 minutes from Martinborough to Whakapata Cottage (details also below – see ‘From Martinborough’). There is plenty of secure off road parking for any type of vehicle you may have. As the track is circular, you will finish your walk where you started – back at your car.
